The new online try-on technology Zyler has witnessed thousands of new users overnight, with almost half a million outfits tried on. Created by image-processing specialists Anthropics Technology, Zyler is a virtual try-on used directly on retailer websites or by users through the Zyler swipe app, which is where the viral spread started this week.

The technology is designed to allow customers to see themselves in outfits without visiting physical stores — a topic that has not gone unnoticed in 2021. Comments on the shared images took off, surprising creators with the volume of images being viewed and shared. Members of the original social media group began trying it for themselves and re-sharing with other groups and friends, Zyler said in a press release.

"We’ve created a new experience by making virtual try-on fun, easy, beautiful and risk-free. People are loving it and we’re excited to see where this goes.” said Alexander Berend, CEO at Anthropics Technology.

Brands and retailers such as Farfetch, Adidas, and Kendra Scott have all started to adopt virtual try-on programmes recently. Most are focusing on fit, but Zyler is living proof that the visual aspect of try-on drives user excitement.

“There is an addictive quality to scrolling through styles on you, seeing if the next one is the one you fall in love with. Zyler only needs model images to generate visualisations — no scans or additional photo shoots — so retailers can offer whole collections for try-on easily,” explained Berend.

After uploading a profile picture (no full body photo needed) and basic measurements, Zyler provides a hyper-personalised and fun shopping and browsing experience. Users can fine-tune their visualisation using sliders to adjust different body proportions to make it as realistic as possible, the release added.

Until now people have, at best, seen themselves in images of models that approximate their own body dimensions as an avatar without actually seeing what they would look like in the outfits themselves. With Zyler, outfits are not just pasted onto the models; customers can now see themselves in the outfits they wish to buy on their body shape before committing to a purchase and enjoy the process along the way.
