The 12th International Conference: Indian Petrochem: 2010 held on 15th-16th November 2010 in Mumbai was organized by the Chemicals & Petrochemicals Manufacturer's Association.
"Developing Flexible Packaging Solutions to meet Changing Market Expectations" was presented by Mr. Rocky Vermani, Managing Director, NOVA Chemicals, Switzerland. The author has shared the projections for the Global Packaging Market and highlighted the Consumer Packaging Value based on Geography and End Use. He also clearly mentioned the advantages of flexible packaging along with the trends of packaged goods in the market.
He concluded the presentation saying that the package designs have to improve continuously to meet the changing market and sustainability needs. He then added that the emerging markets and changing lifestyles imply new opportunities for convenient packaging.
About the Author
The author has done a blend of technical and commercial assignments encompassing North American and International locations to support ongoing business and foster long-term strategic interests of NOVA. He has good knowledge of all key facets of the Polymer business ranging from feed-stocks to commercial offerings and supported by a sound understanding of current and evolving technologies and global industry dynamics.
He then moved to Nova from DuPont Canada in 1994 as a Senior Process Engineer and worked through various assignments in Business Development, polymers marketing, and technology licensing in Canada and the USA, before progressing to his current role as a Managing Director of Nova Chemicals, Switzerland.
He holds a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
