Digitally ahead – with smart textiles and printed electronics

Sustainability and digitalisation – both are driving the industries and ensuring massive developments. Techtextil and Texprocess drive the approach of combining technological progress and sustainability forward: this is where the future of the apparel and textile industry is reflected. Numerous exhibitors are therefore increasingly focussing on future-oriented applications for textiles and offering exciting textile solutions as in the field of smart textiles or printed electronics. At Techtextil, innovative exhibitors and their development partners will be demonstrating the new areas in which electronic textile innovations can fulfil functions and how they perform in extreme situations. Companies such as Associacion de Investigacion de la Industria Textil (AITEX), AQ-Tech, FRTI, MCVE Technolgie, Monforts, Performatex, Porcher Industries, Puglia Woollen Mills, Santex Rimar Group, Shieldex and VUB will be there. The special presentation Performance Apparels on Stage impressively shows what functional textiles can do and demonstrate the various different ways and functionalities they are used in the apparel and fashion industry in the field of sportswear and leisurewear and professional and safety clothing. An independent jury of experts examines all the products submitted.

In addition, the topics of automation and digitalization are being driven forward. Various exhibitors are increasingly relying on technologies such as 3D design, virtual try-ons and automated processes to work more efficiently, reduce costs and make supply chains more transparent. The upcoming Texprocess will present more offerings in the areas of sustainability, digitalisation and automation than ever before. Renowned, specialised exhibitors such as Epson, Kornit and Stratasys will be showcasing their digital innovations, new 3D printing technologies, bio-based inks and environmentally friendly production processes.
