Dr. Sameer Sood

Dr. Sameer Sood is a visionary leader and Director of NIFT Gandhinagar Campus. He holds a PhD in "Social Compliance Procedures for Apparel Export in India" and an MBA in "Public Policy and Management" from MDI Gurgaon, along with a Post-Graduation in "Garment Management Technology" from NIFT.

With more than 19 years of industry experience in various roles, including product development, inventory management, retail, exports, and marketing, Dr. Sood is skilled in enhancing operational efficiency and cost savings. As Professor at NIFT, Dr. Sood actively contributes to academics and research, providing students with valuable insights and fostering critical thinking.

Currently serving as Director at NIFT Gandhinagar, he is also a Member of Boards at (a) Gujarat State Handloom & Handicraft Corporation Ltd., a Govt. of Gujarat undertaking and (b) Gujarat Rajya Khadi Gramodyog Board, a Statutory Board of Government of Gujarat. In his administrative roles at NIFT, he has had a significant impact on various projects and initiatives.

Under Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood's leadership, NIFT Gandhinagar curated two prestigious G20 events, namely the G20 Finance Meet 'VASHUDHAJAN,' emphasizing sustainability, and the G20 Health Meet 'NIRAMAYPANTH,' showcasing Indian culture while unveiling the Ayurvastram Look Book.

On behalf of NIFT Gandhinagar, Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood received the "Education Leadership Award" in 2023. His previous roles at NIFT include Professor at NIFT Campus Bhopal, where he played a vital role in establishing NIFT Bhopal as a center of excellence, and Joint Director (I/c) at NIFT Campus Bhopal, where he handled various administrative responsibilities.

Dr. Sameer Sood has a rich history of managing outreach programs, coordinating courses, and organising events that promote design and skill development. His significant experience in the textile and garment industry, along with his academic achievements, showcases his contributions to both industry and academia.
