Vijai Singh Katiyar

Mr. Vijai Singh Katiyar acquired his graduation as a textile technologist from the Government Central Textile Institute (GCTI), Kanpur, and his Post Graduation in textile designing from NID. He is pursuing his doctoral Research in ‘Design for future creative industries of India’. In his career span of two decades, Vijai has successfully accomplished many aspects of design and design education. He has anchored national seminars and conferences on the same.

Vijai is an accomplished designer and a senior faculty member at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmadabad, India. He is a founder member of the ‘International Center for Indian Crafts’ at NID. He is also a member of the Policy & Planning Committee of NID.

Publications/ Books/ Papers

He has authored several papers on design and other related topics and served on the jury panels of design competitions. Recently he has authored a publication "Indian Saris: Tradition, Perspectives & Design" covering the handloom sari traditions and their scope for new creative business models in India.
