What level of competition persists in your field, and where mainly it is from – international or domestic players?
The competition is high with domestic players. In the world market for Testing equipments, earlier there were very few players. Even though, the list of testing equipment manufacturers have increased, branded manufacturers are only few. Today many manufacturers provide equipments which are not as per industry standards and they concentrate only on cost efficient instruments. Many of them don't understand the exact needs of the customer. It is very important in testing to upgrade the machines periodically as per the industry standards and this is again mission with the few testing manufacturers. As testing equipments are semi-capital items, customers are also considering only the price factor rather than quality. But, the market is not invaded by these kind of suppliers, since still quality conscious customers choose products from branded suppliers.

As the year 2010 going to bid farewell with the good news of TUFS being re-permitted by Govt from December start, how do you envision the coming year for textile industry in the wake of this policy's re-allotment?
Technology Up gradation Fund was brought in the year 1999 to initiate more investments in textiles and was suppose to be extended till 2012. But, sudden suspension of TUFS in June 2010, has slow down most of the investments and many projects were halt. TUF scheme is very successful and it has brought more than 2 lakhs crore of investment in to the industry in the past years. So, the re-allotment of this policy will not only attract the investments but also generate more employment opportunities in the country.
