Mark Burstein, President, talks about the company's solutions for the textiles and apparel industry.
Tell us about the ERP/PLM solutions that your company offers. In what ways are they unique?
NGC's cloud-based Andromeda PLM solution was designed specifically for the needs of apparel, fashion and footwear brands and retailers. NGC's PLM is configurable and user-friendly, and it provides a common platform for all PLM related elements including planning, merchandising, design, costing, sampling, quality and sourcing. Workflow calendars allow users to track progress, predict unexpected delays and keep all departments on the same page in real-time. With critical path management processes and the ability to create role-specific dashboards, users have the information at their fingertips to ensure products are on time, on trend and on budget.
IT solutions are expensive, and often out of reach for SMEs that make up an overwhelmingly large chunk of the global fashion industry. Do you offer solutions for them as well?
NGC customers include both high-growth, relatively new fashion brands and retailers as well as many of the industry's largest and most admired brands, such as Carter's and VF Corporation.
A fast-changing industry also means that the solutions need to stay abreast of the changes. How do you ensure this at your company?
We have a singular focus on the fashion and retail industry, unlike many PLM and supply chain vendors that serve multiple industries. I ran an apparel company before joining NGC, and our other executives and consultants have prior experience with best-in-class retailers such as Target, Kohl's, DXL Corporation, Carter's and many more. Fashion and retail are in our DNA.
