How prevalent are engagement practices in the Indian corporate houses? Can you explain a bit about the Look Good initiative of Myntra and its importance as an employee engagement practice?

Overall, engagement practices have not been so prevalent in the Indian corporate houses, however most new age organizations are making an effort in this direction, and many other organizations are also realizing the fact that engagement practices are good from a broader perspective.

At Myntra, we look at doing engagement practices in a fun and stylish way. If you look at the journey of Myntra over the last three to four years, our objective has always been to provide the most recent fashionable products to consumers throughout the country.  We have always focused on one of our core values- 'Customer WOW' which aims at providing the best experience to customers. As part of this program, one of the initiatives launched was the 'warehouse staff makeover', where we gave a complete makeover from hair styling to finding the right clothes and footwear. This was an initiative aimed to not only help people look good but also the urge to do something for the people who are serving this objective from the back end.

With respect to our warehouse staff makeover initiative, we have received positive feedback from various corporate houses who have approached us with the request of doing a similar makeover for their staff as an engagement activity. So I think that overall, engagement practices like these are less prevalent in the Indian corporate houses but many organizations are realizing its importance from a long term point of view. I believe the entire idea of involving every member of the organization is becoming more and more crucial nowadays for realizing the organisation's vision.
