Job Description
Taking responsibility for the repair and maintenance of all production and utility machinery; providing technical advice to the mechanical team and ensuring that all production related machinery is maintained at the required standards.Monitoring and managing machine spare parts and the attachment inventory; updating daily issuances and monitoring stock levels and re ordering when necessary.Coordinating with production and technical teams to identify the requirements for new styles and accordingly, taking necessary steps to ensure that machinery and attachments meet the specificationsfor the new styles.Preparing periodic maintenance schedules (weekly, monthly, biannual and annual) and ensuring that machines are maintained as scheduled.Attending pre-production, line lay-out and line-balancing meetings; identifying the requirements of the mechanical team, and subsequently deciding action plans while taking measures to brief the team.Analyzing to see how improvements could be made to machinery and attachments, and subsequently liaising with the team members to ensure that required modifications are made.Assisting in the preparation of the annual departmental budget and subsequently monitoring and controlling all expenses to ensure that they do not exceed the budget.Keeping abreast of the new developments in the industry, assess the applicability of new technology to the company and sharing the knowledge with team members.Ensuring that safety procedures are adhered to.
