Ensure all new product developments created through a portalImprove cycle time and RFT rate for new product developmentEnsure delivery of development projects as per customer need (specifications)Seamless Coordination with Weaving and Knitting partners to ensure timely delivery of goodsPrincipal AccountabilitiesManage & Control agreed service level of Fabric Testing:Manage the day-to-day testing and reporting activities of greige & processed/finished woven and knit fabrics and providing timely feedback to stake holders for taking CAPA. Ensure 4-point system is fully implemented and adhered.Ensure the fabric testing report is in line with customer specification. Ensure all testing equipments are calibrated at an appropriate frequency with a standard/master. All new fabric product development is handled through the Zenith portal and must have all necessary data inputs from each process. Development lead-time < 6 weeks from approval (idea to finished sample).Manage the 3rd party testing, follow-ups, and providing timely feedback to concern stakeholders. Ensure the training for QA personals.Audit the knitting and weaving partners regularly and assist them to meet Coats std. Control financial performance of Performance Materials Department:Manage continuous improvement initiatives cross functionally aimed at maximising the potential for saving cost within the business whilst ensuring that Coats best practice is in placeManage the development and implementation of QA SOP's and controls covering all areas of Technical activity so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to customersControl health and safety related issues comply with Local and global requirements:Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, quality and environmental management policies, SOPs and controls across the Technical function to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products / services and a responsible environmental attitudeKnowledgeExperience on fabric inspection & mending as per American 4 Point System. And /or quality control function in a composite mill.Basic knowledge of weaving / knitting / wet processing will be added advantage.Hand-on experience on fabric testing equipment.Knowledge of shade matching must be aware of centre selvedge variation and shade grouping.Fabric packing compliance with the required physical, colour and quality parameters.Coordination with the external labs for the fabric testing / certification as per requirements.Engineering background required with experience in atleast 3 of following process staple spinning, dyeing (fibre, yarn or fabric), weaving, knitting, processingKnowledge on ISO & 5S systemsPeople management skillsInnovation mind-set : keen attention for details with out-of-box approach
