Job Description

Executing the strategic plan & driving revenue through effective sourcing, merchandising & timely quality inspection & delivery of orders
Developing & growing the vendor base for both apparel & accessories out of India & Sri Lanka
Acting as the liaison between business vendors and the UK head office
Managing daily operations of the India & Sri Lanka business
Assessing factories on a continual basis & ensuring their compliance to Superdry standards
Managed and resolving production line & quality assurance issues by working closely with the teams
Achieving agreed business targets with respect to profit margins, vendor performance, quality & deliveries
Building effective strategic relationships with senior leaders & successfully partnering across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies & colleagues to drive results
Identifying opportunities in business by applying strategic filters & planned, presented & executing the same on a regular basis
Leveraging analysis & experience to identify & prioritize new sourcing opportunities and creating resource plans to achieve goals & targets for the team
Holding vendors accountable to performance agreements & determining the right courses of action
Overseeing high visibility and complex/competitive negotiation processes & conducting as needed
Partnering with department leaders to identify needs and plan development & skill building for sourcing talent
Pre-empting and solving problems using a proactive and fact based approach
Help inform and educate business partners on local market trends, vendors etc,monitoring external trends and feeding in how these relate to our brand & customers
Manage the team effectively, providing inspirational leadership, day-to-day management, and developing them to be as effective and successful as they can be
Significant professional experience in apparel merchandise sourcing, development or production, preferably working within the Indian subcontinent

Eligibility Criteria

Demonstrable political and organisational expertise, able to effectively and directly manage conflicting view points and challenging situations with minimal negative impact
Advanced negotiation and influencing skills along with a strong decision making ability
Good knowledge and network of local factories, mills, trims suppliers etc to be able to leverage deals
Ability to report, communicate and present effectively with a strong command of English. Should also be able to communicate fluently with vendors and related parties in the local language
Ability to think strategically on the growth plans for the local office and manage resources and budgets accordingly
Ability to effectively lead a large team, manage and plan resources to achieve goals and support unplanned work
Ability to lead others through change whilst achieving and maintaining results
Highly focused and work well under pressure demonstrating emotional maturity and an understanding of the environmental factors.
