Job Description

Review and provide legal advice on tender documents / contracts / agreements / memorandum of understanding
Liaison with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken
Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management
Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff
Sending letters, notice to sellers / buyers of cargo for default of any clause of cargo contracts
Preparing reply to sellers / buyers of cargo for default of any clause of cargo contracts
Preparing legal notices / complaints / reply of legal notices for recovery of dues
Advising on charter party related issues
Sending replies to ship owners relating to charter parties issues
Preparing settlement deed with ship owners related to charter parties violation
Advising on insurance (marine, vehicle)
Preparing reply to banks on issues of finance and disputes
Drafting and vetting of finance related contracts including loan documents, investment agreements, bank guarantees, LCs
Protecting performance bank guarantee by legal action
Advising finance department in relation to restructuring of loan, enhancement of loan
Assisting and advising tax department whenever any demand or notice issued to the company / management towards Income tax / sales tax
Taking suitable legal action to protecting the Management relating to any demand from Income tax and sale tax
Drafting and vetting and negotiation of domestic and international commercial contracts including drafting of tender Contracts, supply and service agreement for projects with different domestic and foreign vendors
Vetting and negotiation of power sale agreements drafting and vetting of Joint venture agreement, consortium agreement, etc
Drafting, vetting and negotiation of mining related agreements
Preparing legal feasibility for new proposals
