Gujarat designer duo's collection goes global

Anar Patel and Vandana Agarwal, winners of Interior Lifestyle Awards 2015 will be showcasing their winning collection representing the finest craftsmanship from Gujarat at the world's most renowned Trade Fair for Home Furnishing and Textiles – Heimtextil 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany, according to a press release by the organizers Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt.Ltd.

Anar Patel, daughter of Gujarat's Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, and Vandana Agarwal are the key women behind Gramshree and have been involved in championing the cause of artisans for over a decade. Putting together the authentic stitch, design, technique and craftsmanship that is unique to the region, the designer duo presented a distinct concept of “Collision” in interior designs and home textiles at this year's Ambiente India & Heimtextil India trade fairs in June. Anar and Vandana will now present their creations in front of the global design community at Heimtextil 2016. The event is slated to take place over five days from January 12 to January 16, 2016 with over 2700 participants from around the world (including 350 Indian companies) showcasing and forecasting new furnishing and design trends.

The fundamental theme around which Anar and Vandana's designs will revolve is “Transition” wherein the process of change – representing India's seasonal, cultural, festive and form based transition in the form of a distinct designs for home décor will be highlighted.

Anar Patel, director and co-founder of Craftroots, said: “Heimtextil fair has been a great platform to promote the rich craft of Gujarat. Through this platform Craftroots will be connecting to the world and sharing the ideas of merging modern aesthetics and age old craft techniques to create innovative craft based products. In real terms it is a wider platform for the artisans.”

Winners of the Interior Design category of ILA 2015, Ayush and Geetanjali Kasliwal will present their concept at Ambiente 2016 the world's largest consumer goods fair in Frankfurt, Germany. The Awards are being organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt. Ltd. together with the Guild of Designers and Artists with an aim to recognise aspiring Indian designers and put their creative prowess in front of the global home furnishing and interior design industry.
