Exeter Brands ropes in Todd Blumenthal as Head of Product & Design

Athletic footwear designer & marketer, Exeter Brands Group LLC, a subsidiary of Nike Inc named Todd Blumenthal to the newly created position of Vice President and General Manager, Product and Design, overseeing the group's portfolio of Starter, Team Starter, Asphalt, Shaq and Dunkman brands. He will report to Exeter Brands President Mary Gleason. Blumenthal, age 41, joins Exeter from Nike, where he most recently was Global Merchandising Director for Nike footwear. Blumenthal has 20 years of experience in product creation and merchandising with companies such as The Limited, Gap and Polo Ralph Lauren. He joined Nike in 2000. “Todd has deep experience in creating compelling experiences for consumers, from product concept to the retail environment,” Gleason said. “We're thrilled to have Todd join our team and lead product vision and creative direction for all our brands.” Exeter Brands Group LLC, based in New York, designs and markets athletic footwear and apparel for the value retail channel and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Beaverton, Oregon-based Nike, Inc., the world's leading designer, marketer and distributor of authentic athletic footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories for a wide variety of sports and fitness activities.
