Chairman and managing director of Palladam Hi-Tech Weaving Park (PHWP) M Senthilkumar has said that the park is fully geared to produce higher value-added items like made up textiles and readymade garments.

In a press statement, he said PHWP would soon become a bench marking centre for the production of high value-added items, including technical textiles. The total built up area of the park is 7 lakh sq feet.

Four hundred shuttleless looms are operational in the park at present, and the total investment till date is estimated at over Rs 360 crore, he said.

Senthilkumar issued the statement after the PHWP bagged the ‘Best National Park Award’ under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) in the country.

The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, has acknowledged PHWP as the best, performance-wise among the 70-odd parks in the country at a function held in Surat recently. (SH)
