The South African clothing industry will shortly have a standard size for garments.
“The sizes of apparels will be standardized”, said Bissoon from the SA Bureau of Standards (SABS).
“After buying a piece of clothing, consumers experience that despite buying it in their usual size, the garment does not fit properly”, he said.
“The new standards will cover the process of standardizing measurement prior to the preparation of clothing patterns”, he added.
