UK's Samson works overtime to meet sports socks demand

Samson Hosiery, UK's number one manufacturer of a vast range of football, rugby and hockey socks, has plenty of orders in hand, and the company is working overtime to meet the current demand, according to a recent report in Football Trade Directory (FTD).
Established in 1981, Samson serves 12 UK and major international sports brands, in addition to over 1,850 retail and trade customers.
The Manchester-based company offers all its customers' personalization service on socks, which can be explained as selling bespoke ready-to-use product.
As a family-run business, Samson Hosiery's philosophy is quite simply, "quality football socks made in England at affordable prices, with a personal and first class service".
Speaking to fibre2fashion, Mr. Mustafa Ashraf, Managing Director, Samson Hosiery, said, “The socks market is currently faring well in the UK. At Samson, we do not aim to match prices with imported goods from Asia or China. Our aim is to work within the quality British market and match prices there.”
Informing about the demand markets for Samson socks, he says, “Our largest demand is from big name sports brands for professional teams. For our company, the emerging markets are in Europe as we are receiving orders from Norway, Germany and the Netherlands.”
Revealing about Samson's clientele and competitors, he avers, “Our clientele range from schools, amateur teams and professional teams to kit manufacturers and well-known brand names. Our competitors are mainly in the UK quality socks market, followed by some manufacturers in the EU.”
