Accusing Adidas of infringing on patents for its FlyKnit sneaker line, Nike recently said the former stole its technology. Nike filed a lawsuit in a Portland court seeking to make Adidas stop using the patented designs and pay monetary damages. It also complained to the International Trade Commission to block imports of a wide range of Adidas Primeknit shoes.German company Adidas has denied the claim. “We are currently analysing the complaint and will defend ourselves against the allegations. Our Primeknit technology resulted from years of dedicated research and shows our commitment to sustainability," the company said in a statement.
Nike’s FlyKnit technology uses specialised yarn from recycled and reclaimed materials to create a sock-like fit in the upper part of the shoe. Nike said it was the result of more than $100 million and a decade of research, most of that done in the United States, according to US media reports.
