The Fourth Bangladesh Knitwear Exhibition ended at Dhaka Sheraton hotel on a successful note on October 22.
The three day exposition, inaugurated by Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed, Honorable Chief Adviser of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh, this time, displayed the latest innovations and provided a common platform for manufacturers, buyers and policy makers.
The event was organized by Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) along with German Technical Coordination (GTZ), who was their partner in social compliance and productivity improvement.
In an exclusive interview with Fibre2fashion, sources from BKMEA informed that out of 56 stalls, 54 were showcasing products manufactured by local producers and one was occupied by Nadim Textile from Pakistan and the other, by Eco-tech Software Pvt Ltd from India.
During the knit-fair, seminars on topics like New Dimension in World Apparel Sourcing: Opportunities and Challenges for Bangladesh and Productivity Improvement through Lean Manufacturing: Challenges & Opportunities for Bangladesh Knitwear Sector, also held.
A huge number of buyers from countries like US, Canada, UK, France, and Italy along with a team from Japanese delegates visited the event. BKMEA is currently eying Japan that has huge potential as a new export destination.
