Amazon has planned a 10th fulfilment centre in Texas in Katy city. The one million square foot Katy city fulfilment centre joins seven other existing facilities in Coppell, Haslet, Dallas, Fort Worth, Schertz and San Marcos. Amazon had earlier announced its intention to open fulfilment centres in Houston and Coppell, which are currently under construction.

"We are excited to continue growing in Texas by creating an additional 1,000 full-time roles at this new fulfilment center in Katy," said Akash Chauhan, Amazon’s vice president of North American Operations. "In fact, beyond the more than the thousands of employees who currently work for Amazon in Texas, more than 160,000 authors, sellers and developers in Texas are growing their businesses and reaching new customers on Amazon products and services."
