CherryField, a global textile provider with over three decades of experience in the apparel industry, has announced its strategic acquisition of Africa Apparels EPZ Ltd, a leading manufacturer based in Nairobi, Kenya. This acquisition is a significant step in CherryField's ongoing strategy to boost its global competitiveness and strengthen its international presence.

Established in April 2007, Africa Apparels, now rebranded as CherryField Apparels, has been instrumental in the growth of the export-oriented garment industry in Eastern Africa. The company specialises in the production of denim jeans and bottoms, primarily targeting the US and European markets. With an in-house design team and expertise in raw material development and sourcing, CherryField Apparels offers comprehensive full-package production services.

CherryField's acquisition provides numerous commercial benefits, including competitive pricing and the absence of anti-dumping duty (ADD) restrictions on imports. The company already has a significant global footprint, with operations in 10 countries including Vietnam, Turkiye, Laos, Cambodia, and Bangladesh, and marketing offices in London and New York. The addition of Africa Apparels to its portfolio further expands CherryField's product range and enhances its international market presence, the company said in a media release.

CherryField's emphasises the use of OEKO TEX certified fabrics, organic cotton, and recycled inputs. Innovation is also a cornerstone of CherryField's approach, especially in denim finishing. The company employs state-of-the-art Reverse Osmosis Water Purification technology, significantly reducing water and energy consumption, cutting down on harmful chemicals, and minimising waste.

“Celebrating 15 impactful years in Kenya as a leading apparel exporter, we are delighted to unveil the acquisition of Africa Apparels, now rebranded as CherryField Apparels. This manufacturing facility boasts cutting-edge features such as a premium water recycling system and advanced laser equipment," CherryField CEO Tali Shladov commented. "This strategic move is poised to amplify our product range, particularly in the USA, empowering clients to excel in competitiveness regarding pricing and quality in a sustainable operation.”
