With the number of mobile phone users rising exponentially in India, e-commerce major Flipkart has said it will become more mobile-centric in the next two years through adoption of newer technologies such as artificial intelligence and social networks, according to media reports.
Flipkart's chief product officer Punit Soni said that about a billion people in India use mobile phone and the company needs to take into account the sheer number of those who will use a phone to buy goods.
His comments came on the sidelines of a Leadership Summit organized by the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.
Flipkart has invested heavily in technology and has already made a beginning in adopting newer and advanced technologies to become more user-friendly and is gearing up to meet demand of the ever-growing mobile phone user base in India. (SH)
