French lifestyle brand Lacoste has opened its own online store in India selling the entire portfolio including apparel, accessories, footwear, leather goods and perfume.

Lacoste's CEO for Asia Pacific region Jean-Louis Delamarre said this digital flagship store in India is a cornerstone in the Indian business and the omni-channel strategy across the region, the Economic Times has reported.

India is the French brand's fifth market in the Asia Pacific region after South Korea, Japan, China and Australia.

The company plans to expand its reach to a wider consumer base in tier one and two cities where it is physically not present. For Lacoste, menswear is the bestseller for the brand with the iconic polo shirt accounting for 30 per cent of the total apparel sales in the country.

The brand currently has 48 stores in the country and one in Maldives, according to media reports.

"Philippines and Thailand will be the new additions on the e-commerce roadmap in the coming 12 months. Digital flagships will remain the backbone of online strategy," the Lacoste CEO said. (SH)
