South Korean garment manufacturer Sae-A Trading Co. Ltd. will set up an industrial park in northern Haiti.
In his capacity as the UN special envoy for Haiti, former US President Bill Clinton said the project will help Haiti recover from the 2010 earthquake and will benefit about 500,000 Haitians.
The project is being set up with an investment of US$ 224 million and the South Korean company hopes to initially create 20,000 employment opportunities.
Mr. Clinton, who is in charge of spurring investment in Haiti, said the Caracol industrial park will encourage other entrepreneurs from overseas to invest in Haiti.
