Most denim jeans retailers and sellers in Finland donot source jeans which have been processed by sandblasting methods.
Finnwatch – a workers rights body based in Finland said out of the 24 apparel sellers participating in a survey, 22 said that they did not buy jeans which were sandblasted.
Sandblasting has become a matter of concern worldwide since the process leads to severe silicosis in workers doing the job.
Many global clothing fashion brands including the likes of Versace and Esprit have supported abolishing sandblasting techniques.
