Nepal's Pashmina and garment industry are enduring tough times since the US withdrew the duty-free facility it offered to these goods, and hence Nepali entrepreneurs are now seeking restoration of the facility.
During a meeting with a team of World Learning Institute of America, which is currently on a visit to Nepal as a part of its world tour, Morang Commerce Association said the US should restore the zero-duty facility in respect of several Nepal-made items, including garments and Pashmina.
The representatives of the Association urged the visiting delegation, which includes US Senators, to serve as a link to boost penetration of Nepali products in the US markets.
In response, the delegation assured that it would table the matter before the US Parliament, and would help Nepali entrepreneurs to develop contacts with the US Chambers of Commerce to facilitate information exchange.
