China grabs top spot in Italian textile made-up imports

For long, Italy held position as the largest importer of textile made-ups in the world.
Even today, it is acknowledged as net importer of these items with Chinese logging in highest figures till September 2005 with 4.212 million kilograms, making up for 24.2 percent of the total imports.
This was a 41.9 percent rise over 2004.
Once the largest exporter, Germany stands second, despite a decrease of 13.2 percent with 22.736 million kilograms of imports.
Pakistan comes third with a registered growth of 31.4 percent at 11.516 million kilograms.
Indian imports to Italy leaped by 48.1 percent to reach the 10.18 million kilograms mark.
As for the Italian exports, interestingly, Tunisia emerged as the major importer in 2005 with an increase of 2.9 percent.
India became the second largest export market with a 0.7 percent growth over 2004, with 10,672,273 million kilograms.
Even though French imports saw a growth of 18.2 percent, it stands as the third largest market with 6,975,756 million kilograms.
