The award ceremony took place at the B.A.U.M. annual meeting in the representative capital offices of the German Telekom AG, a B.A.U.M. member company. With this award, the German Environmental Management Association (B.A.U.M.) e.V. honors individuals who through their outstanding commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development have initiated processes of change within our society and contributed to their implementation. The largest environmental initiative of the European economy recognizes the "movers and shakers" in companies and institutions who are responsible for environmental and sustainability management and operational implementation.
In the category of "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises", the award went to Dr. Antje von Dewitz. The jury’s rationale: Since taking over the management of VAUDE Sport GmbH & Co. KG, Dr. von Dewitz has promoted the company’s consistent and transparent sustainability strategy. The ambitious goal: to make VAUDE the most environmentally friendly outdoor equipment supplier in Europe by 2015. Significant achievements have already been made in this direction, both in product development and in the perception of corporate social responsibility. Since joining the family business as CEO, Dr. von Dewitz has been dedicated to forging ahead with clearly positioning VAUDE in terms of sustainability at all levels. This not only strengthens the company as a role model in the outdoor industry, but also through corporate communication VAUDE has been able to accelerate consumer sensitivity in purchasing decisions towards greater environmental awareness.
