TaylorMade-adidas Golf company has informed that PGA Tour professional Mike Weir, a member of the TaylorMade Tour Staff since 2001, has extended his partnership with TaylorMade through 2008 and made the switch to adidas Golf footwear.
The 2003 Masters Champion, Mike Weir said, "I've had great success using TaylorMade metalwoods and irons for the past five years and I'm looking forward to continuing my relationship with what I consider a terrific organization."
"I am also happy to be making the move to adidas Golf footwear. Like clubs, shoes are a vital part of a golfer's equipment, and that's the reason I made the change," he said.
Weir will lace up the Tour 360 shoe, the most recent innovation from adidas Golf, launched in 2005. Designed for the player who wants the very best in all his equipment, the Tour 360 utilizes adidas Golf's unique footwear technology and will provide Weir with tremendous stability and support.
Weir, a seven-time PGA tour winner and three-time President's Cup participant, will be an integral part of adidas Golf's promotional campaigns during 2006, and his image will appear on adidas Golf point-of-purchase displays. He debuted in the Tour 360 for the first time on the PGA Tour last week at the 2006 Sony Open in Hawaii.
Chuck Presto, Vice President of Global Sports Marketing for TMaG, said, “Mike is exactly the kind of golfer we want on the TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staff - a great player and a great person."
