ECA supports 'export ready' Aussie fashion designers

Oct '12
2013 will see the The Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA) Export Cluster Program take a substantially different approach and this year the Export Council of Australia (ECA) is pleased to announce the involvement. Please find below information from

TIFA about the 2013 program and how you can get involved as a fashion exporter:
This year the program involved the support of a number of key fashion industry stakeholders including NSW Trade & Investment, Austrade, Fashion Group International (FGI), IMG-Fashion (organisers of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia), NSW Small Biz Connect, Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, Export Council of Australia, Australian Institute of Export, Elizabeth Mimis and Susan Clowser.
Secondly, TIFA will be selecting 12-15 “export ready” local fashion designers; supporting them to deliver real measureable export business growth, and conquer new export markets.  To achieve this, TIFA will roll out a program over the course of 2013, galvanizing the support of all our TFIA collaborators to help Export Cluster members achieve their export objectives.
This will be done via:
• Structured Group Mentoring, including education on agent selection, supply capacity, operations, logistics, selling proposition, marketing materials, pricing and finances/funding.
• Individual Tailored Mentoring, helping to assess your individual business needs, and develop your business plan to include export and the necessary financial planning.
• Advising export cluster members on the range of support available through government and other organisations to help them fulfill their export potential
• Potential involvement in an Overseas Trade Mission to a country agreed with the members, and
• Collaboration, where export cluster members can explore and share ideas on how they can work together to grow their export businesses, collectively or individually.
Export Cluster Program applications are open from Wednesday 10th October 2012.
