Apparel retailer West 49 Inc has appointed Steven Boyack as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary to join the company on March 27th 2006.
Sam Baio, President and CEO of West 49 Inc, said, "With three acquisitions over the past nine months, the scope of our lead financial role has significantly expanded."
"Boyack brings specific financial and accounting experience and expertise in the retail sector to support the continued integration of these acquisitions, as well as the realization of synergies created by these acquisitions.
“We look forward to his contributions to our organization as we pursue our growth strategy. This, together with our other appointments, strengthens the breadth, depth and structure of our senior management team as we continue to grow as a multi-banner, national retailer, including broadening our on-line presence," he said.
Boyack is a Chartered Accountant with more than 17 years of accounting and finance experience, primarily in the retail and consumer goods industries. Most recently, he was VP, Controller at Winners Merchants International L.P., a division of The TJX Companies Inc, where he led all accounting and finance functions and a team of approx. 100 associates.
Arthur McGlashan, CGA will continue as Chief Financial Officer of the West 49 banner and will remain as an officer of the company.
"Arthur McGlashan has been instrumental in our evolution from a small, single-banner retail chain to the country's leading action sport retailer with more than 108 stores under six banners," said Baio. "His in-depth knowledge of our business will continue to be valuable as he leads the accounting and finance team for our largest banner."
