From the Racerback – the world’s first non-wool suit – in the 1920s, through to the Speedo Fastskin Racing System, as worn by swimmers including Michael Phelps, Speedo has pioneered every swimwear innovation over the last 85 years, and first introduced Watershorts in the 1950s.
The classic Seafun 16” watershort is influenced by Speedo’s classic designs, and features a stylish all over print for a fashionably retro look.
As well as heritage Speedo branding, the Seafun includes a waistband which is fixed at the front and elasticated at the back to combine style with comfort. The water-resistant fabric offers a lightweight feel in the water, as well as ensuring the shorts dry faster after every swim.
Inspired by Speedo’s reputation for swimwear innovation, the collection also includes the Speedreef Xpress Dry 20” Watershorts, made using a re-engineered version of Speedo’s LZR Pulse fabric as used in Speedo’s revolutionary performance swimwear.
Cut with a slimmer fit to reduce drag whilst swimming, the Speedreef Xpress Dry combines style with function and features a futuristic all-over print design that is cool enough for any pool or beach. It also features Speedo’s intelligent Xpress Dry fabric, which actively repels water and dries almost instantly, making these watershorts the ideal choice for holiday swimming.
Sean Hastings, Vice President of Product and Marketing at Speedo International, said:
“Speedo has been a mainstay of life on the beach ever since we first produced swimwear in 1928, and we’re proud that this remains the case as we celebrate our 85th year.
“The Speedo Watershorts collection combines the best style influences and technologies from our archive with contemporary design, for a range which looks and feels great whether in the pool, on the beach, or simply enjoying the summer sun.”
