Sarar fumes over its fake namesake products in China

Leading mens and women's wear maker Sarar Group is miffed with fake Sarar products in China.

Cemalettin Sarar, Chief Executive, Sarar, said that there is a surge of fake Sarar – branded products in the Chinese markets.

He explained that it was very difficult to be a global brand and involved a lot of hard work and years of experience.

Sarar expressed frustration over illegal trade going on in many countries and said that they did not receive an appropriate response against logding written complaint about the illegal imitates in China.

He also said that even in Turkey, there were many fake brands passed off as originals under the guise of famous labels.

Sarar stated that they work with Italian, German, Spanish and French designers and added, "We work together and create our products with our designers. Then by evaluating together, we select the good ones and drop the rest. We are working together with the world. Because one should get information from designers to be a brand. It is important to keep up with the age."

Sarar also believes that VAT discount brought in by the Government has not been effective enough and the successful companies exporting abroad should be supported and encouraged.

To ensure momentous development in the textile sector, the Government should support firms on the issues of energy, insurance premium and tax, he added.
