He added that in the beginning, when the new shopping malls started mushrooming in the city, their business declined 20 to 25 percent in the first few months, but gradually, the customers returned back to their old favorites.
Adani's have three hyper-markets at Phulchhab Chowk, Amin and Bhaktinagar circle respectively, and are planning three more super-malls in the city, location for which is yet to be decided, said Shoshone Shukla.
They are considering opening super-malls at Morbi, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar and Junagadh, he added.
Shukla reiterated that Rajkot never had such huge one-stop-shop awareness till date, so the super malls are being treated as Mecca's for shopping-buffs, and since no big companies had yet marked their presence here, there is ample space for them to enjoy the monopoly.
Even house wives corroborate to the fact that they had been shopping from the traditional provision stores till now, but after shopping their monthly rations from the big malls, they have found that schemes and discounts in store for them are aplenty!
