Tubeknit Fashions picks Donna Karan order to supply t-shirts

In the nine months till December 31, 2005, it achieved a turnover of Rs 104.61 crore and a profit after tax of Rs 6.19 crore.
It makes smart casuals, sweat shirts, sports wear and pullovers for 45 European brands, including Tesco, Tommy Europe and Monoprix of France — has drawn up plans for a Rs 100-crore expansion and is mulling plans for a public flotation of equity.
The expansion is designed to ramp up the production capacity from 38,000 knitted garments a day to 78,000 pieces per day. Textile exports are dicey and big brands are intolerant of slip-up in quality and delivery schedules.
That is why expansion plan is to establish a spinning yarn plant with a capacity of 50 tonnes a day. It aims to spend as much as Rs 41 crore out of Rs 100-crore expansion plan on spinning mill.
