Christa Michalaros has been named Chief Executive Officer of Rafaella Apparel Group Inc, the widely recognized designer, sourcer and marketer of women's career and casual sportswear.
The company, which has been in the women's apparel business since 1982, markets its products primarily under its Rafaella brand sold in Macy's, Belk, Carson's, Nordstrom's and other better department and specialty stores.

Most recently, Ms Michalaros spent five years as President of the Tommy Hilfiger Womenswear Division. Prior to that, she worked her way through the ranks of Liz Claiborne from sales assistant to President of the company's Casual Group where she was responsible for overseeing the nearly $1 billion operation.
Ms Michalaros succeeds Glenn Palmer, who will become an advisor to Rafaella, its board, and Cerberus Capital Management L.P. Cerberus acquired the assets of Rafaella Sportswear Inc in June 2005. Ms Michalaros will also be joining the company's board of directors. Ronnie Frankel, founder of Rafaella, remains as an advisor to the company and on its board of directors.
