Gokaldas Exports reports Rs608.8mn profit

Improved prices and increased purchase from Western retailers helped Gokaldas Exports in gaining annual net profit of 54 percent.
The leading Indian apparel exporter registered a net profit of Rs608.8 million for March 2006, company's sales gained 23 percent to Rs8.85 billion.
The company is a supplier to international giants like Gap Inc, Nike Inc and adidas.
It is planning to invest around Rs450 million in current fiscal for expansion of outerwear and bottom production capacity which generate 80 percent of revenue.
Gokaldas Exports is India's largest and one of the world's best known and most reliable manufacturers of ready-made fashion garments.
It has operated out of Bangalore for over thirty years, keeping pace with the fashion wear requirements of more than 100 famous labels in 39 countries.
