IT training offered to NUTGWN members

By offering basic computer applications training to women members of the National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGWN), at newly opened George Meany Computer Centre, at the Michael Imoudu National Institute of Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin, Kwara state, the latter gained public appreciation.

Stressing on the need to acquire knowledge in the Information Technology field, the same would contribute to the development of human resources, individuals and their families, organization and above all, the nation, according to Comrade Issa Aremu, Acting General Secretary of the union.

Funded by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), the programme participants were directed to not only put into practice all that was learnt but were advised to share the information and knowledge with co-workers and in turn, discharge national duties, according to Dr.John Olarewaju Director of MINILS.

Dr.John thanked for the support, encouragement and challenges offered to MINILS by the Textile Union, while on the other hand, Comrade Agunnala praised the services and the facilities offered by the institute to its members.
