SDC International Colour Conference & Gala Awards Dinner

Topics will range from 'Creating colour value for customers' and 'Future colour landscapes' to 'Dye technology for the 21st century' and 'Coatings that create colours'. Fashion designer Katharine Hamnett, in an on-stage interview with Prof Derek McKelvey, will address the topic 'Clean up or dye!' and TV presenter Adam Hart-Davis will tell delegates 'What Perkin did for us'.
The annual colour exhibition will run alongside the conference in galleries 1 and 2 of the Waterfront Hall. According to the Society, the exhibition will provide a unique opportunity for delegates and exhibitors to meet and discuss the latest colour products, services and technology in a friendly, informal atmosphere.
In the evening delegates will be invited to celebrate the creative and imaginative use of colour at the 2006 Gala Awards Dinner sponsored by VeriVide. It is at this dinner that the Society will announce the winners of its 2006 Colour in Design Competition for students sponsored by Marks & Spencer, together with the winner of the SDC-sponsored 2006 Texprint Colour Prize. It will also announce the winner of its prestigious SDC Perkin Innovation Award.
The Northern Ireland Region of the Society has organised an exciting and varied programme which has something for everyone: from an 'Irish Night' at the famous Crown Liquor Saloon and sightseeing, to geology and golf.
