To build increased recognition for its premium luxury brand and showcase the growing lifestyle collection, True Religion Apparel Inc announced it has signed a lease to open a store in New York City - the first True Religion Store on the East Coast.
The 2,000 square foot store will be located on Prince Street in the popular SoHo shopping district where other premium brands such as Diesel, Prada and Lacoste also operate retail stores.
The store is expected to open in December 2006, in time for the Christmas shopping season, and will carry the entire True Religion line of clothing, including Men's, Women's, and Kid's denim jeans, jackets, western shirts, T-shirts, skirts, fleece hoodies and pants, as well as the increasingly expanding line of down jackets and vests, and sportswear, including knits and wovens.
"Expanding our retail store base is an important component of our growth strategy and the internationally known SoHo district is the premier location for our first foray in the East," said Michael Buckley, president of True Religion Apparel. "In addition to the SoHo store, we currently plan to roll out two more retail locations in 2006 and expect to accelerate the pace of store openings to seven new stores next year in prime, upscale retail destinations."
"We are very enthusiastic about the success of our first retail store in Manhattan Beach, California, where we show customers and retailers alike our growing vision for the True Religion Apparel collection. We hope to duplicate this success in New York and other key locations across the United States," said Jeff Lubell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Lubell noted that True Religion opened its retail store in Manhattan Beach, California, in December 2005.
