In the first half 2006, apparel exporting price of Vietnam to the US market saw slight decline in almost all categories that are covered under export quota.
Price of categories No.338/339 (M&B knit shirts/W&G knit shirts & blouses) and M&B trousers, breeches and shorts/W&G trousers, breeches and shorts (No.347/348) went down four and five percent, respectively, which is an average slump of four percent in all categories.
They are categories No.334/335 (other M&B coats/W&G coats) recorded highest decreasing rate in the period, as their price stood at $85.95 per dozen, much lower than $123.48 per dozen, early this year.
In spite of such slump in prices, total exports turnover of the quota–controlled textile and apparel to the US in January–June period achieved sharp growth, largely due to development in exports volume.
Vietnam's exports revenue of quota–controlled categories in June 2006 netted $230 million, the highest revenue in exporting history contributing to almost half of the total amount of $1.207 billion.
