During the first five months this year, export value of finished clothing and home furnishing from Hong Kong increased 9 percent to HK $212.2 billion compared to the same period last year.
Even if quota limits from the US and EU, the export value to the two destinations reached $75.9 billion.
HK Government is planning to collect commodity and service tax, but according to experts, it is likely to hit HK clothing trade.
However, this decision might prove a wrong move of Government as during the HK Fashionable Dress Festival featuring spring and summer series, number of foreign buyers was more compared to the buyers visited during previous Festival.
The experts said RMB appreciation would not affect HK clothing trade.
