Art Spar to fortify NPD's Apparel tracking services

The NPD Group announced the promotion of Vice President Art Spar to the position of President of the company's Apparel tracking services.
In addition to Apparel client development, Spar will now also oversee sales, product management, marketing, research sciences, and custom research functions.
Spar reports to Dennis Brown, group president with overall responsibility for NPD's Consumer and Commercial Technology, Beauty, Home and Fashion & Sports groups. Director Lori Monaco will continue to lead NPD's Footwear and Active Apparel services – also reporting to Brown.
“In his new role, Art will strengthen NPD's research and customer service capabilities for the apparel industry,” Brown said. “His broad and deep industry knowledge and expertise will ensure that our clients continue to receive the high quality of information and insight that NPD is famous for.”
In his former role as Vice President, Apparel Client Development, Spar led the integration of NPD's consumer information source, AccuPanelSM, with the company's complementary product offerings and played a critical role in educating clients on the applications and benefits of the panel.
Spar was also responsible for leading the client development teams in delivering and servicing the range of NPD's information products, including AccuPanel, Consumer Panel TrackSM, and Retail TrackSM. Spar joined NPD as Vice President in July 2005 when NPD acquired STS Market Research.
Since 1967 The NPD Group has provided reliable and comprehensive consumer and retail information for a wide range of industries. Today, more than 1,400 manufacturers and retailers rely on NPD to help them better understand their customers, product categories, distribution channels and competition in order to help guide their businesses.
