Apparel builds a new image

Sri Lanka's apparel industry is a major contributor to the country's economy. After its modest beginnings in the seventies, the industry represents 43 percent of the country's total exports and contributes 39 percent to the industrial production of Sri Lanka.

The apparel and textile industry at 46 percent is the largest contributor to the export revenue. The apparel industry is also the single largest employer in the manufacturing sector in Sri Lanka, accounting directly and indirectly for 75 percent of total employment.

Brandix announce that, Sri Lanka Apparel represents manufacturing exporters and the key associations which comprise the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF). Sri Lanka has a reputation for being a quality apparel manufacturer having a reputed international customer base.

It also complies with international labour and good governance, has a skilled and trainable labour force and is in a position to offer competitive pricing, on time delivery and short run manufacture for premium brands.

Chairman Ashroff Omar highlighting the timely decision in creating a new brand image said: "We are confident that it is the correct time to launch the new brand identity despite the ongoing turbulent time."

"We have found that our buyers would prefer a new brand image which gives a positive look. Today we launch the programme which will take the countries exports to next stage," Omar added.
