IRF to host retail & shopping centre congregation - ICSC

While presenting you with the second edition of India Retail Forum (IRF), I feel honoured to be designated as the Chairman of this magnum opus of India retail.

IRF this year is surely set to emerge as one of the largest retail & shopping centre congregations in Asia, with corporate heads and principals of the retail & shopping centre businesses converging from across the globe to discuss growth strategies for India.

The 2006 edition of IRF gains special significance as it will also hold the annual conference of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), India.

The theme of IRF 2006 is 'Empowering Indian Retail with Global Best Practices'.

The Indian retail markets are full of opportunities opportunities for growth, opportunities for market share, opportunities for diversification.

However, the future is likely to be very dynamic, and therefore, turbulent. To survive and grow in tumultuous times, retailers need to be resilient.

Resilience requires alternatives as well as awareness the ability to create a plethora of new options that provide compelling alternatives to existing strategies.

This is precisely the objective of India Retail Forum (IRF) -- to generate awareness and enhance knowledge to facilitate retail growth.

IRF will affect men, machines and money in retail and turn it into the most vibrant segment of the Indian economy. IRF's galaxy of international speakers, expert panelists and the proposed subjects for deliberations at the Retail Convention makes for a perfect agenda for charting a growth path for
