Liz Claiborne appoints Michele Parsons as President & CMO

Apparel and accessories retailer Liz Claiborne Inc announced the appointment of Michele Parsons as President and Chief Merchandising Officer for the Liz Claiborne Apparel business, effective September 25, 2006. In this role, Ms. Parsons will oversee all design and merchandising activities for the iconic brand. She will report to Pamela Thomas-Graham, Group President, Better and Moderate Apparel for Liz Claiborne Inc.
Commenting on the announcement, Ms. Thomas-Graham stated: "Michele's extensive background in merchandising and general management makes her the ideal candidate to join the team at Liz Claiborne Apparel. We have substantially enhanced the quality, fit and value of Liz Claiborne apparel and have added more on-trend and wear-to-work styles.
These enhancements have been very well received by retailers and consumers alike. We look to Michele's collaborative leadership style and merchandising expertise to complement the talents of the strong team that has created the momentum we are seeing."
