Law proposing to put a tab on discount in readymade garments has got the support of local entrepreneurs who allege that foreign traders manipulate them at their will.
United Brands Association Chairman, Kiziltas said that discount entices consumers to delay their buying with the expectation of decrease in prices. Mustafa Taviloglu, founder of Mudo Chain Stores complained that foreign traders were doing what was banned in other countries.
He further demanded that a fixed timetable must be applied for discounts. He suggested that discount dates should be decided and discounted as well as former price must be written on the labels.
