Feb '07
Recently, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Vietnam Christopher Muessel proposed to implement export license requirement for apparel exports to US.

This will prevent foreign companies from forging origin of goods as of Vietnam.

It will also facilitate Ministry of Trade to keep record of average price of unit value of apparel goods.

This step will also encourage garment units to increase production for US and acquire high unit value orders.

Vietnam has transparent and efficient system of quota allocation system compared to other countries of the world, he added.

He also warned Government to take prompt measures for maintaining transparent, efficient and fairness in trade for restricting importers plan to leave Vietnam.
