Lately, a resolution was certified by House of Commons for maintaining growth rate of clothing imports from China at 7.5 percent per annum as per World Trade Organisation rules.
This move will protect domestic firms such as Hamilton's Coppley Apparel Group from negative effects of clothing imports.
Earlier, EU and US has also taken similar action against them. Even this move is supported by all three opposition parties and garment workers union.
Since January 2002, clothing industry has removed 50,000 workers from jobs.
