Level playing field key to curb downfall of apparel sector

Trade Delegation Committee of Pakistan Cotton Fashion Apparel Manufacturers and Exporters Association has claimed that apparel manufacturers and exporters were not given a level playing field as the regional competitors.
This situation has worsened the state of deteriorating textile industry.
Dr Shahzad Arshad, Chairman, elaborated, “The apparel export-based industry, is playing a major role in earning invaluable foreign exchange and in view of its significance, the government should ensure drastic measures to rectify the situation.”
He also stressed that this sluggish situation has resulted in rapid job-loss in the apparel sector, regarded as the largest employing industry.
